Cold Spring Modular House was designed for a family of four on a wooded site approximately one hour north of New York City. The house is composed of four modules to create two opposing Lās that are then placed on top of each other. The top L extends over the bottom to create an outdoor living space that expands the apparent dimensions of the living room. The intertwining of the two L shapes creates a variety of orientations that enrich the everyday experience of the house. The house is located next to a constructed natural swimming pond that helps control water flowing across the property.
