Since January 2015, twelve graduate students from Pratt Institute's School of Architecture have been designing a Community Connection Pavilion with the help and supervision of Pratt instructors Jim Garrison of Garrison Architects and Deborah Gans of Gans Studio.

Police stations throughout the world are being re-designed to integrate more with the public. The 73rd precinct in Brownsville, Brooklyn, is in a location that could greatly benefit from this design ideal, and it is the location that is tackled with this project (through the modular design strategy utilized could be replicated elsewhere).

Participation and community involvement have been highly integrated into the design process. From a community-designed mural, to manufacturing at a location near Brownsville, and even the design and construction oversight by local Pratt students, this pavilion constantly seeks to get the public involved.
